Chicken lovers come to Kentucky! Some things you will want to know about are the climate, some exciting facts, and things to do. Read on to find out more.

First of all, you should know about the weather. It’s warm in the summers. The temperature gets up to 77˚F so pack light clothing. During winter months, the average temperature goes down in to the 30’s, so pack up that winter gear. You’ll need a heavy coat, a scarf, and a pair of gloves. For you mountain climbers- don’t forget to bring your hiking shoe and a sleeping bag for a trip up Black Mountain. Its elevation goes up to 4,145ft!

Another thing about Kentucky is that it is called the Bluegrass State. It is called the bluegrass state because bluegrass grows here, and because blue grass music was originated here. Bill Monroe, “the father of bluegrass music”, was born in Kentucky. He started playing what came to be known as bluegrass music. Some more interesting people that came from Kentucky are Muhammad Ali, Johnny Depp, and Abraham Lincoln. Another interesting fact you should know is that Kentucky fried chicken was invented here. So come down to get a taste of the original fried chicken.

Finally, you should know about some places to visit. The Daniel Boone wilderness trail is another great place to visit. The most famous place in Kentucky is the Central Kentucky Mammoth cave.
